In 2014, Launched a Blog Showcasing Emerging Creators and Music Artists

I started OneAvenue.TV as a side project in 2014, growing it to millions of monthly active readers within a year. This video celebrates our first million readers. The OneAvenue.TV app didn’t start from scratch—it had a strong base of readers and creators.

Creator-Fan Engagement Was Challenging

It’s 2015 and it is pre-creator economy; No OnlyFans, FanFix, Linktree (not really), Cameo, etc. Monetization platform was limited to only few platform only:

  • Patreon, Gumroad

  • Bkstg (Founded by Justin Bieber)

  • Streamlabs (For Twitch streamers)

  • Tips feature on various social platforms

OneAvenue.Tv identified a trend where creators and fans struggled to engage effectively. In response, the platform was developed to bridge this gap, enabling creators to connect with their audience and drive revenue, all while focusing on a seamless design experience for scalable growth.

Creators found it difficult to engage their fan base amidst the overwhelming noise of social media, with limited options for direct interaction and meaningful monetization opportunities.

Research Findings

Insights From Creators & Their Fans

Through 20+ creator interviews and 500 fan surveys, focusing on 18-34-year-olds in North America passionate about content creators (Twitch, YouTube, musicians), we discovered that over 70% of creators struggled to engage their audience effectively amidst social media distractions.

Fans expressed a strong desire for more direct interaction, highlighting the need for a dedicated platform that enhanced engagement and monetization opportunities.

Through card sorting, interviews, and a content audit, we crafted a scalable site map and refined wireframes that streamlined the user experience.

For creators, frictionless onboarding ensured their content was centralized and ready for immediate use.

Fans experienced quick onboarding and seamless engagement with their favorite creators, creating an intuitive and cohesive platform flow.

We gathered feedback from 200 participants on the first version of the app. Their insights helped us refine key features and improve the user experience:

  • Desired a more vibrant, exciting experience

  • Requested a curated Discover Tab with better discovery features

  • Emphasized need for more user-centric features

  • Suggested making the Live tab ‘more happening’

  • Asked for improved notification features
